There was plenty to get egg-cited about on Edgware Road as local older residents enjoyed an afternoon of great company, delicious food and friendly competition, thanks to Hilton London Metropole.

Let the games begin…

Eight employee volunteers from the hotel welcomed 50 older people from Age UK Westminster and Penfold Community Hub on 31 March 2026 for a special Easter-themed afternoon tea at Tyburn Kitchen.

The space was soon buzzing with conversation as guests and hotel staff teamed up over games of Uno, Scrabble, draughts and Jenga, proving it’s never too late for a little healthy competition. Laughter came easily, and new connections were formed throughout the afternoon.

Guests tucked into a classic afternoon tea, featuring a selection of freshly prepared sandwiches including Coronation chicken and cream cheese with cucumber, followed by delicate cakes, scones and chocolatey Easter treats such as brownies adorned with chocolate eggs. A fresh fruit salad provided a light and refreshing finish.

More than just tea and treats, the afternoon created a chance for people to come together, share stories and enjoy a change of pace in a welcoming setting.
