Older people at risk of social isolation were brought together to chat and test their general knowledge at a coffee and quiz morning on 28 January 2026.
Four employee volunteers from Hilton London Metropole, based on Edgware Road, led a fun-packed quiz, all alongside sweet treats, warm drinks and conversation (although no sharing of answers between teams!)

Employees from the Hilton London Metropole ran a social quiz for older people at Penfold Community Hub.
The activity was held at Penfold Community Hub which offers a social programme for older people across Westminster, with a focus on those living in Church Street ward.
The quiz formed part of a series of ‘Midweek Mingle’ sessions being held at the hub across the winter months to help older people socialise at a time of the year when they often stay at home due to the colder weather.
Brightening up a cold January day, the quiz attracted 28 older people who formed 6 teams as part of the activity. A picture round of world landmarks began the quiz, before participants took a trip down memory lane in a music round, as teams tried to identify songs and which film they featured in from blockbusters spanning the 1950s to 1990s.
General Knowledge and Guess the TV Advert rounds followed, after which Team Lovely People were victorious, earning themselves a luxurious box of chocolates as first prize.
Employee volunteers helped served refreshments for guests to enjoy during the quiz.
Hilton volunteers led four rounds including picture and music rounds.
Team Lovely People were awarded a box of chocolates.
The activity was arranged as part of our Community Programme which supports our business members to engage in the community. From environmental projects to skill-sharing to coffee mornings, there is something to suit every community engagement plan that creates memorable moments and sustainable impact.
