Engagement Day with the Business Crime Hub

Join us on Monday 11 April from 12-4pm at Waitrose Edgware Road where we will be running an engagement day with the Business Crime Hub. This will be an opportunity for anyone who works in the area to talk to the Business Crime Reduction Partnership (BCRP), local policing team, Marble Arch BID Street Team and Community Safety Manager.

In line with other London Boroughs, Marble Arch BID are supporting a local Business Crime Reduction Partnership (BCRP) across the district. The aim of the BCRP is to work in partnership alongside businesses and the police to help deal with criminal and antisocial behaviour, as well as encourage businesses to report and share information. Crime and abuse are frequently not reported to the BCRP or police, under reporting and a lack of sharing intelligence are key issues that this initiative aims to address.

The engagement day will also help raise public awareness about local issues and show businesses what actions they can take to address them. We will be giving away personal safety items as well as handouts and information, including:

  • Hardest Call – Launched by the Metropolitan Police Service and independent charity, Crimestoppers, this campaign wants to encourage people to report concerns about a friend/family member involved in knife crime;
  • Violence against staff;
  • #Shopkind, a national initiative to tackle violence and abuse against shop workers;
  • Look Up Look Out, a campaign by the Metropolitan Police to help prevent street robbery;
  • Anti harassment policy in workplaces
