English wine has never been so exciting! Throughout July, Vinoteca is celebrating British Roses with a signature wine paddle.
Here is Vinoteca’s pick of the crop of England’s rosés, from sparkling Cornish Pinot Noir, to summer pudding-scented pink from Surrey, to a stunning single vineyard rosé from one-woman band Ingrid Bates in Somerset.
Pinot Noir Rose Brut 2016 — Camel Valley, Cornwall, England [V]
A big favourite of staff and customers alike. Pale pink and brimming with strawberries & rose blossom. A pink Champagne beater.
Rose Hill — Denbies, Surrey [V]
A summer fruit pudding, overflowing with raspberries & strawberries and ending with a super-fresh blackcurrant hit.
Pinot Noir Rose 2017 — Dunleavy, Somerset [V]
A tiny vineyard in Somerset’s Chew Valley, just outside Bristol. The quality of the sustainably farmed fruit shines through — a really classy number.
