The festive spirit filled the air on 12 November 2025, as 22 children from the Sylvia Young Theatre School brought Christmas cheer to Nutford Place with a joyful carol performance, marking the start of the holiday season in Marble Arch.

Organised by Marble Arch BID, the event brought the local community together to celebrate the season and enjoy the talents of the young performers. As the children’s voices filled the streets with warmth and festive joy, passersby paused to enjoy a heartwarming medley of Christmas classics including Jingle Bells, Hang Up Your Stocking, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, Once Upon a Christmastime and Santa Can’t You Hear Me.

After the performance, the celebrations continued at The Pickled Hen, where the children were treated to delicious hot chocolates prepared by the hotel’s team. Councillor Karen Scarborough joined the celebrations and thanked the children for their festive performance. The cosy gathering provided a chance to warm up, share smiles and celebrate the start of the festive season together.
Each year, Marble Arch BID funds the Christmas lights along Edgware Road, brightening the area for all who work, live and visit. The lights are a highlight of the winter season and form part of the BID’s commitment to creating a welcoming and vibrant environment for everyone in the district.
A heartfelt thank you to the children and teachers of the Sylvia Young Theatre School, to Councillor Karen Scarborough, and to The Pickled Hen and the London Marriott Hotel Marble Arch team for their warm hospitality.
