Fire Marshal Training (half-day) – Monday 15 April

This half-day fire marshal training course is useful for those who are responsible for overseeing fire safety in the workplace,  designated fire marshals and anyone who needs to know how to use a fire extinguisher – arguably anyone in the office. All delegates will receive a St John Ambulance certificate valid for three years.

The topics attendees will learn in the course are:

• Action on discovering a fire
• Common causes of fire
• Fire drills and evacuation
• The chemistry of fire
• Fire safety legislation
• The role of fire marshal
• Fire safety precautions
• Using fire extinguishers

First Aid Training (full-day) – Thursday 9 May

This one-day Emergency First Aid training course will help you meet your regulatory requirements if your risk assessment indicates that first aid training covering emergency protocols only, is sufficient for your workplace. The course is suitable for anyone who would like to learn first-aid, but is especially suited for nominated first aiders in smaller, low risk working environments. All delegates will receive a St John Ambulance certificate valid for three years.

The content of this course provides basic life saving first aid and workplace health and safety regulations, covering the following:

• The role of the first aider
• Managing an emergency
• Communication and casualty care
• Bleeding (minor and severe)
• Burns
• Choking (adult)
• Defibrillator prompts and how to respond
• Health and safety (first aid) regulations
• Resuscitation (adult CPR)
• Seizures (adult)
• Shock
• Unresponsive casualty
• Defibrillator pad placement
