Hammerson laptop donations light up the classroom

A big thank you to Hammerson who have this week donated 24 laptops to local Hampden Gurney CE Primary School.

Marble Arch-based Hammerson, owner, operator and developer of prime urban real estate in some of the fastest growing cities in the UK, Ireland and France, stepped up when the school reached out to the BID team in February 2024 to seek support to upgrade the IT in their computer suite and classrooms.

Most businesses refresh or update their PCs and laptops every three years, on a rolling basis, as technology advances rapidly. By safely clearing data and donating equipment, companies can help bridge the digital skills gap while at the same time saving energy through extending the life of the products.

“At Hammerson we have a proud history of giving back and supporting the local communities in which we operate. We are delighted to be able to support the children at Hampden Gurney CE Primary School by providing laptops and accessories which can be used to enhance pupils’ learning resources whilst reflecting Hammerson’s commitment to ESG by extending the lifespan of the equipment, reducing our electrical waste and carbon emissions.”

Kerry Horvarth, Head of ESG Sustainability at Hammerson

“May we express our gratitude and thankfulness to Hammerson for the 24 laptop donations to Hampden Gurney. Staff and pupils were overwhelmed by the generosity as these timely gifts will replace our aging laptops to help enhance and enrich our pupils’ learning experience and enjoyment. With school’s budget constraints, these donations are much valued and appreciated. Thank you.”
