IGT swap gaming for guttering

Volunteers from gaming firm IGT, based in Marble Arch House, spent Wednesday 19 June at King Solomon Academy. The team of nine braved the rain assembling guttering for the school’s new greenhouse and gardening shed. The guttering systems will now flow into two separate water collection stations. This will allow students to tend to their plants using recycled rainwater.

Later in the afternoon, IGT colleagues continued their hard-work, building and constructing four new shelves from re-purposed wood. Their work will allow King Solomon Academy to safely store gardening equipment and for the students to successfully grow fruit and vegetables.

Concentrating hard. IGT colleagues enjoyed using power tools to construct shelves and instal guttering.

We all really enjoyed volunteering at King Solomon Academy last week. We learnt new skills we never knew we had and hope the guttering and shelves last for many years to come. It was a pleasure to donate our time to such a worthy project.
