Marble Arch BID Renewal and Alteration Proposal 2026-2031

Since its launch in April 2016, Marble Arch BID has provided a collective voice, as a promoter, partner, and advocate for over 200 member organisations and stakeholders located within the Marble Arch area, positioning it as one of London’s standout destinations for business.

After nine years of dedicated service to businesses, visitors and the local community, the BID is entering its renewal period. BIDs operate on a five-year cycle and must hold a renewal ballot to continue. This gives members the chance to decide whether the BID’s services and projects can keep growing and flourishing. Without the BID, services such as the Marble Arch Street Team, employee volunteering, public realm improvements, area promotion, events and tailored business training, would simply stop.

Our 2026–2031 Renewal and Alteration Proposal sets out an ambitious, member-driven plan to further improve safety, strengthen community connections, enhance the public realm, and celebrate everything that makes Marble Arch and Edgware Road a unique and thriving district.

Developed through extensive consultation with stakeholders and members from every sector, the proposal reflects what matters most to the organisations who power our area. It outlines how the BID will invest over £5 million directly into the district over the next five years, ensuring that Marble Arch remains safe, welcoming and competitive in the years ahead.

Minor alterations are proposed to the BID area, taking in neighbouring areas at the northern end of the district, as illustrated on the map here. These extensions are in response to specific business and resident requests to tackle particular issues. The extension creates a more sensible interface with our neighbours Baker Street Quarter Partnership to the east, and leaves no gaps between the two BIDs. The proposals have received support from local councillors and residents.

Within the proposal, you will find our plans to:

  • Keep the district safe and resilient through a more agile Street Team, a dedicated Retail Crime Action Team, enhanced resilience training, targeted route reviews, and new capacity-building support to help businesses meet Martyn’s Law requirements and handle complex customer situations.
  • Enhance and maintain the public realm, delivering clutter-free streets, improved greening and SuDS schemes, small and large-scale placemaking projects, and strong local influence in major transformations, including the future of Marble Arch and Oxford Street.
  • Strengthen community connections, with expanded employee volunteering, targeted partnerships that help address social challenges, an enhanced training series to support staff development and a strong collective voice on local issues.
  • Celebrate and promote the district, through richer cultural programming, new networking events, high-quality visitor insights, and enhanced guest tools, from concierge tours to digital guides, empowering businesses to showcase the very best of Marble Arch.

Our members’ support is essential. A ‘Yes’ vote will retain the services, investment and partnership working that businesses rely on, ensuring Marble Arch continues to flourish.

The free courses provided by the BID have been a great benefit to our team’s development. We also enjoy the local events they highlight, which our team regularly gets involved with. It’s reassuring to know the street team is always on hand should we ever need them.

The BID has been a fantastic partner, working closely with both our operational and marketing teams to support FRAMELESS and the wider visitor economy. We’ve found it invaluable to be part of a network that champions local attractions and helps draw more visitors to the area.
