Volunteers from Marriott Marble Arch got well and truly into the Christmas spirit this December, helping to bring a little festive magic to local schoolchildren. On 2 December Marriott colleagues led a workshop on creating Christmas decorations with Year 1 pupils at Hampden Gurney CE Primary School. Volunteers split the class into four groups and each joined a small table of pupils, working with them to create unique festive decorations to celebrate Christmas. Glitter was very quickly all over hands, tables and festive masterpieces as the children got to work creating their own tree decorations! The pupils created a range of colourful ornaments bejewelled with glitter and festive stickers, which were later used to decorate the classroom’s Christmas tree.

Marriott volunteers then stayed to decorate Hampden Gurney’s Christmas tree, decking it in bows, baubles and tinsel.

Decorating underway…
Children returned to school the next day to see the tree wonderfully decorated and looking very festive indeed!

Decorating complete!
Volunteer safety is our top priority and Marriott colleagues wore masks throughout the workshop and whilst engaging with pupils and staff. The activity was thoroughly risk assessed and volunteers had access to hand sanitiser and handwashing facilities throughout. If you feel inspired by the wonderfully festive work of our volunteers and would like to get your Marble Arch team involved, or if you would like to give back to the community this Christmas, please do not hesitate to get in touch with our Community Programme Manager.
