New Outreach Patrols to Support Rough Sleepers

Earlier this year, in our renewal proposal, we committed to introducing a bespoke outreach service, sharing vital intelligence and supporting rough sleepers into routes off the street.

This work builds on our Rough Sleeper Protocols, agreed with Westminster City Council in January 2024, and our work connecting people with StreetLink.

On 31 July 2026, this commitment took a significant step forward, as Marble Arch BID, the Marble Arch Street Team and the Outreach Rapid Intervention Team came together for their first joint patrol. Following positive engagement with St Mungo’s and Westminster City Council, the team engaged with people sleeping rough across the BID area, sharing best practice and exploring new ways of working together.

  • Together we visited seven rough sleeping locations in the BID area over the course of the visits.
  • Outreach provided their direct contact details and a means of contact to five rough sleepers, who now have access to a case worker, with one of these being a new rough sleeper to the area.

These joint patrols will continue as we help establish a new local Community Hub, giving outreach teams and support services a shared base to work from.

If you see someone sleeping rough, you can help connect them with support services through StreetLink, a free service that connects people sleeping rough with local outreach teams.
