Norfolk Crescent Lighting Improvements

Work will start in January 2023 to bring lighting improvements to Norfolk Crescent. The BID first highlighted above average levels of thefts from vehicles with Westminster Council in December 2021, following our BID-wide night-time audit in November 2021.

After a series of site visits and lighting surveys, the City Council committed to designing a scheme to upgrade the lighting.

The scheme covers the whole of Norfolk Crescent, including both sides of the gardens, and comprises the addition of four new lighting columns next to the parking bays, plus the upgrade of 17 existing columns to increase light levels.

This popular stretch of pay-to-park bays is used by visitors to Edgware Road and small business trade vehicles servicing the many homes and businesses in the area. Westminster Council is using their dedicated Light Against Crime funding to bring the scheme forward.

Work by FM Conway will start on 18 January and be completed by 26 February 2023, when UKPN will connect power to the new columns. Traffic management arrangements will be in place while the works are underway, with working hours in operation between 0800 and 1700.

Contact FM Conway for any queries about site operations. You can view details of the scheme design here.
