A Placemaking Strategy for Edgware Road

Marble Arch London BID has teamed up with The Portman Estate and The Church Commissioners to commission a long-term vision for Edgware Road. The placemaking strategy will set out priorities for public realm improvements, what sort of uses people would like to see on the high street and what the high street should look like.

Architects and urban designers DSDHA were appointed in 2023 to start this work, and over the past few months have been pulling together previous studies, reviewing data and talking to stakeholders.

We would like to invite our business members and community partners to a workshop to share their views on Edgware Road, and to help shape its future.

The workshop will be held on Friday 23 February, from 3.30 – 5.00 pm at the Victory Services Club (in The Old Reading Room), 63-79 Seymour Street, W2 2HF.

Simply email us to register.

The placemaking strategy will align with Westminster Council’s work on High Streets launched last year, and explore opportunities for improving the appearance of Edgware Road, reduce vacancy rates and celebrate character, culture and community. You can read more about the study’s brief here.
