August 2022: The Street Team is now on duty Monday-Thursday from 8am-10pm and Friday-Saturday from 8am-midnight.
The Marble Arch Street Team was established in 2016 to address concerns from member businesses about the high levels of anti-social behaviour in the area. In July 2021 we appointed SecuriGroup to operate our Street Team, with a fourth team member joining us.
Since then we have continuously adapted our Street Team tasking based on intelligence collated from the police, Westminster Council, member businesses, and the team themselves. Our members’ concerns are always at the forefront of our tasking and the team’s priorities change based on the impact of local issues on our members.
Since the new contract was implemented, the Marble Arch Street Team have assisted our member businesses 4,806 times, cleared phone boxes of vice cards 856 times and responded to 744 begging incidents.

Our Street Team takes pride in working closely with businesses to address their specific needs and in September, the Street Team were able to successfully retrieve property stolen from Waitrose on Edgware Road. The team continue to engage closely with Waitrose to help prevent crime and anti-social behaviour in and around the store.
The Street Team have been fabulous and help us on a daily basis here at Waitrose. They recently recovered and returned electronic items that were stolen from us. They are proactive, friendly and fantastic for the neighbourhood.
Jamie Chana, Deputy Branch Manager at Waitrose

Our team’s hard work has also recently led to the arrests of two prolific shoplifters that had been targeting retailers on Edgware Road for some time. The Street Team’s consistent collaboration with local policing teams paid off when they were able to detain the shoplifters and contact their policing colleagues to come and perform the arrests. We will continue to work on identifying and addressing prolific offenders in the Marble Arch BID area.
Whilst our Street Team and Security and Resilience Manager work closely with local policing teams and businesses to identify and respond to crime trends and hotspots, it is important that businesses report crimes directly to the Police. If the Police do not know that crimes are taking place, they cannot work to resolve them. Make sure to note down your crime reference number. Once crimes are reported, businesses are encouraged to share the crime reference number with the Street Team, or with our Security and Resilience Manager, so we can collate information and collaborate with the Police on a wider response.
Remember, in an emergency always dial 999, and in a non-emergency dial 101.

The Street Team patrol Monday to Saturday and can be contacted by phone or WhatsApp on 07825 750 777 or 07852 566 122. If you have any questions about our safety and security work, please email our Security and Resilience Manager.
