Springtime treats and pop-up bunnies at Marriott Marble Arch

Late last month, pupils from Connaught House School were invited to Marriott Marble Arch for an afternoon of creative spring fun and crafts.

The children arrived at Marriott Marble Arch very excited to be in a new environment, and were greeted by Stephanie Segoura, the hotel’s General Manager. Executive Chef Kuljit Singh inspired a new generation of chocolatiers, giving every child their very own chef’s hat to keep, alongside a mini apron fit for a junior wonder baker.

Marriott volunteers worked with the pupils on three different spring themed activities. Children made animal shaped chocolates, then created magical pop-up Easter bunnies using cups, straws and rubber gloves. Pupils then flexed their artistic skills, painting colourful patterns on boiled eggs, each creating different bold and bright designs. The children had a wonderful time and enjoyed the varied spring crafts, with most saying the pop-up bunnies were their absolute favourite part. Pupils were given the chocolates they’d made to take home in goody bags and impress their family and friends with their culinary skills.

We’d like to thank Marriott Marble Arch for their hard work putting this event together and for providing all the materials to make it such an exciting afternoon for local children. The hotel has a history of working closely with local schools and has just installed a herb garden, so we look forward to many further activities ahead teaching local children how to grow herbs and use them in recipes.

If you feel inspired by the fantastic work of our volunteers, please do not hesitate to get in touch with our Community Programme Manager to see how you can get your colleagues involved.
