As our consultation to improve safety and junction along Edgware Road closed on 23 December 2018, the team at Marble Arch London BID wants to thank everyone who helped us promote the scheme and wrote in support. The consultation received 583 responses and numerous letters, which are currently being analysed by Transport for London.
Since the inception of the BID, we have had the aim of making Edgware Road safer with enhanced junctions for those who work, live, study and visit here. Through tireless work and a vision for the area’s future, this goal moved one step closer to being realised when we commenced our consultation on 5 November 2018 with Transport for London. The scheme proposes to improve five junctions along Edgware Road by creating new pedestrian crossings, adding count down timers to new and existing crossings, constructing more space for pedestrians on the pavement, limiting speed for vehicles to 20 miles per hour and providing new Advanced Stop Lines (cycle boxes) for cyclists.
Thank you to:
- Our venues that allowed us to host consultation exhibitions – Marble Arch House, London Marriott Hotel Marble Arch and The Pickled Hen, Capital House, Edgware Road Station (H&C, District, Central) and St John’s Hyde Park Church.
- Everyone who shared, promoted and attended our consultation exhibitions, visited our office or contacted us to learn more about the proposed improvements and plans.
- All of you who took the time to write and support the scheme.
We will keep you updated on the result of the consultation. Transport for London will publish the consultation report and results within the next couple of months.
