Employee volunteers unleashed their inner artists during a creative session to paint wildlife masks alongside adults with learning disabilities.

The three volunteers from the Victory Services Club, a military members club near Marble Arch, joined four service users of LDN London to let their imaginations go wild painting face masks of lions, tigers, cheetahs and giraffes.

LDN London runs a number of local community hubs, which are free to attend, that are vital to help tackle social isolation among adults with learning disabilities. Through activities, workshops and excursions they help teach crucial life skills and help people with learning disabilities have the confidence to play a bigger role in their community.

On the first rainy day in months, 8 September 2026, the group were nestled safely away from the elements in its West Kilburn centre to put their creative skills to the test.

Participants had the choice of using paint or felt tip pens to create their masterpieces, with many choosing bold patterns and bright colours to bring their chosen animals to life!

Some participants went for the less messy option of colouring in butterfly masks to pin to the walls, while those feeling extra creative had the opportunity to also paint masquerade masks in colourful carnival designs.

During the session, participants heard about the volunteers’ jobs at the military members club, which prompted conversations about service user’s family member connections to the armed forces, including relatives who served in World War Two.

The activity was arranged as part of our Community Programme which supports our business members to engage in the community. From environmental projects to skill-sharing to coffee mornings, there is something to suit every community engagement plan that creates memorable moments and sustainable impact.
